Full of whimsy….a flightless bird: Tuesday, week 29

Mike Hirshon is an illustrator and professor of illustration whose wonderful work we’ve looked at together twice in the past. His work is very varied, but many of the pieces are just “full of whimsy”. Today’s flightless bird below is a good example. And speaking of flightless birds which are full of whimsy, this association brought me back to the Bloggess’s story “And that’s why you should pick your battles”, involving indeed, a giant metal chicken (i.e. flightless bird) which is full of whimsy. Jenny Lawson aka the Bloggess has some very funny stories, on her website and in a book or two she’s published. Start with this one–one of the best–and if you feel so inclined after reading it, take a look at some of her others. I’ve also enjoyed some of her podcasts.
